Pecket Well Playground Survey

We, the Friends of Pecket Well Playground, would like to provide an update following the results of our Community Survey carried out over the summer regarding the future of the Pecket Well playground.

As a group of local parents, we initially approached Wadsworth Parish Council to raise concerns about the broken equipment on site and the potential loss of the playground. As the only outdoor community space available to residents, we believe it is important that this area is preserved and improved for local people to enjoy. We have attended several Parish Council meetings to present the results of the survey and to share the strong desire expressed by residents to retain the playground.

During these discussions, council members explained that the limited use of the playground, combined with budget constraints, made it difficult to justify significant investment. The Council also indicated that the possibility of selling the land was being considered.

Given the clear feedback from residents about the value of the playground, we sought support from Wadsworth Area Community Assets (WACA), who kindly offered their support. Together, we developed a proposal, which was formally accepted at the October 2025 Parish Council meeting. The agreement outlines a five-year partnership in which the Friends of Pecket Well Playground will seek grants and funding to repair and improve the play equipment and increase community engagement with the space, while Wadsworth Parish Council will continue to maintain the site.

We are now beginning the process of securing funding to enhance the playground, and we would very much welcome your views on what improvements you would like to see.

We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey.

Thank you
