Pecket Well Playground

During the summer you may have seen the posters and survey about Pecket Well Playground – you can find out more by searching “Pecket Well Playground” on Facebook. A group of local people had contacted Wadsworth Parish Council and were told that there was no money to maintain this resource due to budget constraints.

As WACA is now set up as a Community Benefit Society, and so is an accountable body that can apply for grants and receive funding, we agreed that we would like to support the Friends of Pecket Well Playground group and we’ve recently had some preliminary meetings with them.

We also attended the September and October meetings of the WPC in support of the Friends group, and we are very pleased to announce that the WPC has agreed to work in collaboration with us all to look at ways to maintain and improve the playground and equipment, and to encourage increased community use of the area. We have been making plans over the winter months and FoPWP have recently launched a consultation via their Facebook page. You can respond here if you would like to add your views.
